Check The View from Green Monster Seats at JetBlue Park

Floridian and vacationing Red Sox fans can certainly get a good taste of Fenway through the newly constructed JetBlue Park. The dimensions of Fenway South match it’s Boston counterpart with a Green Monster built to trump the original by three feet. Although it wasn’t intended for the wall to stand at 40 feet, the new monster fits along with some other grand additions to the 10,823-capacity spring training facility.

Jim Souhan of the Star Tribune reported that the park “looks like Fenway Park with a spoiler,” commenting on the panels built over the stands to provide shade all around.

Replacing the bleachers in right center is grass area seating behind the bullpen. When looking onto the field it’s easy to picture yourself attending a game in downtown Boston while taking in the relaxed surroundings of Fort Myers, FL.

The Red Sox recently broke in the park with a pair of wins over Northeastern and Boston College. “None of our players realize it yet, but when they’re older and retired and vacationing in Florida, they’ll say, ‘I played in the first game at Fenway South,’” said Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine. “This is a memory in the making.”

Boston is now 5-0 at the start of spring training. The Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays will next challenge the Red Sox at JetBlue Park this weekend. View AceTicket’s Fenway South Photo Gallery here. Purchase spring training and regular season Boston Red Sox tickets are now available!
