Bruins Blank Senators, Cap 6-0 Road Trip

Posted by Ace Staff on March 2nd, 2011 in Sports

Nathan Horton found the net 1:43 into the third period for the only score of the game to lift his Boston Bruins past the Ottawa Senators last night at Scotiabank Place. The recent win led Boston to match their longest undefeated road. “Those are such legends that it’s hard to really be compared to those guys,” said Bruins captain Zdeno Chara. “We’re really trying to focus on playing well and playing our game and playing for each other, and win as many games as possible and have good feelings after the games, no regrets.”

Tuukka Rask collected 33 saves on the night to notch his second shutout of the season. All-Star goalie Tim Thomas helped the Bruins defeat Vancouver and Calgary between Rask’s four away starts. “It’s always nice when you have two great goalies back there,” said Horton after the W. “It doesn’t matter who’s in net, you know they’re going to be there for us.” The Bruins are set to return home and host the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins this week at the TD Garden.
