Marchand Nets 2 Goals In Bruins Win Over Blues

Posted by Andy on February 23rd, 2012 in Sports

Brad Marchand scored 2:29 into the first period and again in the third block to lift his Boston Bruins past the St. Louis Blues 4-2 yesterday at Scottrade Center. After losing to Winnipeg and Minnesota last weekend, Boston was determined to turn things around with three games remaining on their current road trip.

“This was a big win for us after being shut out in the last game,” said Marchand. “With a couple of losses in a row, we wanted to make sure we followed up with a good game.”

Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly also scored for the B’s. Tim Thomas recorded 27 straight saves after giving up two goals early on.  The victory ended the Blues’ team-record point streak at 21 home games. The Bruins have two games left on their road schedule at Buffalo and Ottawa before they return to the Garden to host the Senators Tuesday, February 28th.
