Kobe Sidelined, Nowitzki to Start

By on February 12, 2010 in

Denver Nuggets coach George Karl recently announced that Dirk Nowitzki will start in place of the injured Kobe Bryant in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game. Dirk was extremely close to earn a starting spot until Spurs forward Tim Duncan beat him out in the last week of fan voting. The Mavericks longtime franchise player has made a total of nine NBA All-Star appearances with 2010 marking his first start.

Veteran PG Jason Kidd will also represent the Mavs on the big stage, as he was just named to fill Bryant’s roster spot. Sixers guard Allen Iverson will tend to his ill daughter this weekend, thus not being able to partake in any All-Star festivities. It is likely that Boston’s Rajon Rondo or Atlanta’s Joe Johnson will step up to start for Iverson. Purchase your 2010 NBA All-Star tickets with us at Aceticket.com!
