Possible Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Tour

Posted by Ace Staff on February 4th, 2011 in Concerts

There have been a number of rumors circulating in regards to a Rolling Stones 50th anniversary tour in 2011. Guitarist Keith Richards previously stated that the band may begin recording new material in the coming months. “There are gems in the vault, but more interesting to me is that everybody’s ready to go out there again,” he said. “Who said it should stop and who said when? That’s what we want to find out. We’ll know when it really comes to an end, with a crashing halt.”

The Stones haven’t been on the road together since their worldwide “A Bigger Bang Tour,” which became the highest grossing tour of all time with $558,255,524 earned from 2005-2007.

Former Live Nation chairman Michael Cohl is currently in the midst of a lawsuit with his former company, alleging that Live Nation is preventing him from acquiring the rights to promote a Rolling Stones tour this year. Cohl has worked with the Stones since 1989 and claims that Live Nation and the band were in talks to promote a 50th anniversary tour. Possible reunion tour?
