Recap: The Philadelphia Flyers are the hottest team in the NHL right now going 8-1-1 over their last ten games. It’s no surprise they continue to put up strong offensive numbers behind the power of centers Mike Richards and Danny Breire. The duo has combined for 99 points, that’s good for just under 25% of the team’s total offensive production. Some credit the recent success not to the great offensive numbers, but the team’s decision to allow goaltenders Martin Biron and Antero Niittymaki to share time in net. The two have traded nights in goal for the last 3 weeks and have only lost one game.

2nd Half – Giving both goaltenders time in net and rest in between starts makes perfect sense when both are playing well. This strategy will prove to be very effective and take a little less pressure of the offense to score 3 or more goals a night. As long as the team’s chemistry continues to click, they will stay hot right into the playoffs and be a major threat from the East as a Stanley Cup contender.

Final Standing Predictions: 1st in Atlantic Division, 2nd in Eastern Conference

Team Name: Philadelphia Flyers (26-15-5)

Atlantic Division Standing: 2nd place

Conference Standing: T-3rd place
