After a sluggish start in last night’s game with the Winnipeg Jets, the Boston Bruins were able to pick up their game in the 3rd period for an impressive come from behind victory. The 5-3 was the Bruins’ 24 in 29 games putting them just 3 points behind the Conference leading New York Rangers.

The Bruins playing without suspended LW Brad Marchand, appeared flat to start this game.  The Jets opened the scoring at the 16:53 mark getting a goal from Andrew Ladd. The Bruins would however tie it at 1 all on a late 1st period tally by Nathan Horton.  Winnipeg wasted no time in the 2nd period, scoring 30 seconds in on a goal by Blake Wheeler.  The Bruins were able to tie it at 2-2 in exciting fashion as Shawn Thornton scored on a penalty shot (1st attempt in his NHL career) while the Bruins were shorthanded. The Jets finished up the 2nd period scoring on a goal by Eric Fehr.

It was the Bruins surging in the 3rd period however with three unanswered goals by Horton, Seguin and Pouliot.  Nathan Horton set the tone early in the 3rd scoring just 8 seconds after the opening face-off.   Rask was solid in net for the Bruins stopping 29 shots for his 6th straight win.

Next up for the Bruins will be the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night at the TD Garden. Bruins tickets available for this and all remaining games.
