Former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis has agreed to assume the offensive coordinator position for the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Weis was recently let go after his all too mediocre 35-27 campaign through five seasons with Notre Dame. Weis and Kansas City head coach Todd Haley are excited to reunite on the sidelines. The two previously worked together as assistants for the New York Jets.
“Charlie’s a guy I have a great amount of respect for as a coach,” said Haley. “He’s a coach that system wise, I would say we’re as close as you can be. Charlie’s a guy I consider a friend and I’ve talked to throughout the year, no different from some of the other guys I lean on for things and advice.”
The Chiefs finished the 2009 regular season at 4-12 following a strong Week 17 win over the Denver Broncos. They’ll select fifth in the 2010 draft come April. The NFL Playoffs will start up with the Wild Card matchups this Saturday and Sunday. Check below for schedules and tickets!
