Vampire Weekend ‘Contra’ Tour

New York’s Indie rock band Vampire Weekend just recently announced 2010 international tour dates. Before heading overseas they are set to perform at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC on Tuesday, January 19th. Following their March 30th performance at the Sound Academy in Toronto, the group will be making their way to Boston’s Orpheum Theatre April 1st.

Vampire Weekend consists of band members Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio. They started to earn recognition with their 2008 self-titled debut album. Most popular singles from the album include  “Mansard Roof” and “A-Punk.” Rolling Stone Magazine later named the project at #56 on their list of Best Albums of the Decade. The band will be touring to further promote their latest studio album “Contra.” The record is set for release on January 12th.
