Big Head Todd and the Monsters Information

Rock band, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, got its start in 1986 in Colorado. Members include Todd Park Mohr, Brian Nevin, Rob Squires, and Jeremy Lawton. Their debut album, Another Mayberry, dropped in 1989, and they have released an additional 12 albums, five of which have charted on the U.S. Billboards.

Most notable albums include 1993’s Sister Sweetly, 1999’s Beautiful World, and 2010’s Rocksteady. Hit singles that have charted come of Sister Sweetly, “Bittersweet,” “Broken Hearted Savior,” and “Circle,” as well as off Beautiful World with “Resignation Superman” and “Boom Boom.” In 1995, they were also featured on the song “Tangerine” as part of Encomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin.

The band formed Big Record in 1989 to release their first album. By 1993, they had started to grow a large following in the U.S., and they performed at the H.O.R.D.E. Festival that year. They went on to sign with Giant Records where they recorded Sister Sweetly.

In 2005, they released music on the internet starting with their single, “Blue Sky,” on iTunes. In 2008, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton used the song in her campaign. Their album, 100 Years of Robert Johnson, was released in 2011 in honor of the late blues singer. They have also been known as Big Head Blues Club.

This summer, they will go on tour to support the Barenaked Ladies on their Last Summer on Earth Tour. It kicks off July 7 at the Toledo, OH zoo and will continue across the U.S. throughout the summer.
