Aziz Ansari News

Aziz Ansari Information

Comedian, actor, and writer Aziz Ansari is best known for playing Tom Haverford on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. He started his stand-up career while attending NYU. He created and starred in MTV’s Human Giant, which aired in 2007 and continued for two seasons. He has been in a number of television shows and films and continues to tour for his stand-up routine.

TV shows he has guest starred on include, Flight of the Conchords, Reno 911!, and Scrubs. He has also been in movies such as, The Rocker, Funny People, I Love You, Man, Get Him to the Greek, and 30 Minutes or Less. He hosted the 2010 MTV Movie Awards alongside Kristen Bell.

In 2009, he began getting a lot of critical success. Entertainment Weekly named him one of their “Breakout TV Stars,” TV Guide called him a “Scene Stealer,” and Yahoo! deemed him “TV MVP.”

His, Intimate Moments For A Sensual Evening, aired on Comedy Central and was released as a DVD/CD set in 2011. The special was based off of Ansari’s 2008-2009 comedy tour, The Glow in the Dark Tour, that was very successful. He went on another tour in 2011, the Dangerously Delicious Tour, and had a performance at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall.

His stand-up features topics on everyday life, race issues, self-deprecation, and pop culture. He will be at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre for four performances over two nights on May 17-18, as well as at Foxwoods at the MGM Grand Theatre on May 19.
