Avett Brothers Information

A folk-rock duo from North Carolina, Scott and Seth Avett put out the self titles EP The Avett Bros in 2000 with guitarist Bob Crawford. Playing folksy, untraditional sounding acoustic material, the Avett Brothers considered this first album a project, each member will attached to another band at that point. But what came of their first full length studio album Country Was in 2002 proved that what began as a side project was much larger than first anticipated.

New music became the band’s priority, as their discography reveals at least one album release per year since 2002. The Avett Brothers’ latest, I and Love and You was not only their most successful yet, debuting at number 16 on the Billboard 200, but also the best received, with critical acclaim from the critics and public including being listed as #33 on Spin Magazine’s top 40 albums of 2009. The band has since announced the release of Live, Volume 3 on CD and DVD coming this October. The performance featured on the discs was recorded in August, 2009 in Charlotte, NC, practically a hometown show. Live, Volume 3 showcases the amazing live performances that have helped The Avett Brothers build a legion of loyal fans over their decade-long career; growing exponentially with each release, performance and appearance. In promotion of their latest release, the Avett Brothers will be on tour throughout the fall, playing at the House of Blues in Boston on October 14th.
