Atlanta Thrashers information, The Atlanta Thrashers are one of the most recent NHL expansion teams. They joined the league in 1997. Although the Thrashers have yet to make the playoffs in prior seasons they made it to the post-season in 2007, but were swept in the Conference quarterfinals by the New York Rangers.
The 2008 Thrashers followed their older, less successful trend, finishing 4th in the Southeast division with only 34 wins to their name. Last season seemed no different for Atlanta, as they struggled to fight closer to the top and concluded the year at 35 wins and 41 losses. They will rely on talent IIya Kovalchuk, Colby Armstrong, and Vyacheslav Kozlov to help them look to promising future seasons.
