Information

Arizona Cardinals information, The Arizona Cardinals are one of the oldest professional football clubs in the U.S. and have had one of the saddest reputations as well. The Cardinals have had the longest championship drought in history, as their only NFL title dates back to 1947. After coming off traditional mediocre season in 2007, the Cardinals shocked the world with their unbelievable run the following year. They finished the year at 9-7, being just enough for them to make the playoffs.

They first squared off against the Atlanta Falcons, beating them 30-24. From there they advanced past the Panthers and Eagles to reach Super Bowl XLIII. In one of the most thrilling NFL championship games to date the Steelers barely edged out the Cardinals 27-23 to end Arizona's memorable run. Veteran QB Kurt Warner led the team last season, but the young and talented Matt Leinart will be fighting for his starting job back for the start of 2009. Expect the Cardinals to be competing for the top spot in the NFC West this season.
